Welcome to CERU, where our family-owned restaurants are inspired by our love of travel and the fresh flavours of Levantine cuisine, decor and culture.
CERU was born from our travels along the eastern Mediterranean — through Turkey, Lebanon, Syria and Jordan. This historic region is known as Levant, a name that originates from the French for “rising”, due to the sun rising in the East. For thousands of years, it has been the meeting point of Europe, Africa and Asia, and its cooking carries that history. Arab, Turkish, Persian and Mediterranean influences have blended over centuries into something entirely its own. We ate our way through the regions market stalls, family kitchens, roadside grills and long tables, that filled slowly and emptied late.
What stayed with us was not any single dish, but a way of eating — generous, unhurried, meant to be enjoyed together. When we opened CERU, we set out to capture that spirit rather than copy the recipes. Our cooking is a modern interpretation, taking the spice, smoke, citrus and char of the Levant and reworking them into contemporary dishes. These fusion dishes are brought out plate by plate to be enjoyed around the table.
Across our restaurants in Hyde Park, South Kensington and Farringdon, the menus are wide-ranging, with a generous selection of vegan, vegetarian and gluten-free friendly dishes alongside our signature meat plates.
Our wine list is handpicked from the region’s own vineyards with rich reds, crisp whites and juicy rosés, and our craft beers are brewed specially for us. For evenings at home, our Cook at Home meal kits bring the same dishes straight to your kitchen. We have created a place where dining out feels like eating in — a home away from home, surrounded by good food, good drink and good company.
We look forward to welcoming you soon.
